First Macros

I just tried out my new macro lens. The light source was too harsh on the leaf shot so I got the blown out reflections. <img src="http://thephotoforum.com/forum/images/smilies/blueface.gif" border="0" alt="" title="sad" smilieid="108" class="inlineimg" /> And the 2nd shot- is it too bland?
