Pidato Obama redakan tekanan di Wall Street

Tekanan terhadap pasar saham Amerika Serikat (AS) mereda setelah Presiden AS Barack Obama dalam pidatonya meminta Kongres menunda mengambil keputusan atas serangan ke Suriah dan mengedepankan kesempatan diplomatik.

"Pidato itu mengurangi beberapa kekhawatiran makro di luar sana dan investor kembali ke pasar saham," kata Kepala Investasi First Citizens Bancshares, Eric teal seperti dilansir Reuters, Kamis (12/9/2013).

Penundaan tersebut mengalahkan sentimen dari merosotnya saham Apple Inc (AAPL.O). Wall Street menunjukkan kekuatannya di tengah merosotnya saham Apple setelah meluncurkan iPhone model baru yang mengecewakan investor karena mengharapkan harga lebih murah atau lini produk baru.

Saham Apple terkoreksi 5,4 persen menjadi USD467,71. Posisi ini memperpanjang penurunan 2,3 persen dibadning sesi sebelumnya. Saham Apple mengalami kinerja terburuk selama dua hari berturut-turut sejak 18 April, dengan mencatatkan kerugian hampir USD23 miliar.

Sentimen lain yang mempengaruhi pasar adalah data wholesale inventories bulan Juli yang tumbuh sebesar 0,1 persen atau di bawah perkiraan awal sebesar 0,3 persen, namun lebih baik dibanding bulan sebelumnya yang turun 0,2 persen.

Di samping itu, pedagang menunggu hasil keputusan pertemuan The Fed pada 17-18 September 17-18 terkait pemangkasan stimulus moneter. Stimulus yang mempengaruhi ekonomi dan menggerakan indeks S&P 500 naik hampir 18 persen sepanjang tahun ini.
