National Geographic mengumumkan Aaron Lim Boon Teck Singapura sebagai pemenang Kontes Fotografi Nasional Geographic tahun 2010. Gambar letusan gunung berapi Rinjani di Indonesia karya Lim Boon Teck diterbitkan dalam edisi dunia majalah National Geographic. Selain itu, ia akan meneima $ 10.000 (USD) - Hadiah uang pertama yang diberikan oleh majalah National Geographic untuk lomba foto tahunan - dan perjalanan ke markas besar National Geographic di Washington, DC, untuk berpartisipasi dalam Seminar Fotografi National Geographic tahunan pada Januari tahun 2011.



Lebih dari 16.000 foto mengikuti kontes, baik fotografer profesional maupun penggemar foto amatir di seluruh dunia yang berpartisipasi. Foto dilombakan dalam tiga kategori: Orang, Tempat dan Alam.
